Abstract

Globular clusters are the oldest celestial system in the Galaxy. There is enough time to form all kinds of stars, such as, first aged stars, white dwarfs, neutron stars, even black holes. On the other hand, there should be more binary systems in the globular clusters than those in the field because of a crowded environment. Thus, we through the binaries’ light variation to research the mentioned interesting and important targets. Here, we review some new discoveries that detecting a young generation binary (NV364) and an Algol-type blue straggler (V211) in the largest globular cluster ω Centauri.
