It is worthy focusing the CVs inside the period gap, which are the interesting and secret objects, since they almost are new-found objects with little observation. According to the standard evolution frame of CVs, they should be detached binaries instead of semi-detached ones. We reanalyzed the orbital period distribution not only of all CVs but also of the eclipsing CVs based on the updated catalogue of CVs. Especially, we have derived a distribution diagram of the number of the different subtype CVs inside the period gap. This distribution has clearly indicated that magnetic CVs should be a significant subtype with a large fraction, which further supports the recent conclusion. Considering the different accretion model for magnetic CVs and the advantages of the eclipsing objects, we have investigated some important magnetic CVs including eclipsing and non-eclipsing objects inside and outside the period gap. Our results may arouse some new ideas for the further study of the period gap and CVs evolution.
